'VANANDA' moves between the verge of a structured work and improvisational moods, but is thus able to balance out these unequal forms. The gate of tradition opens up wide to guide the listener to fresh landscapes of improvisation and jazz, that nonetheless does not lose its sense of balance as it maintains its guide of well structured musical compositions. This work can be thought to have a multiplicity of styles, as Georgiou is not alone in his musical endeavors. Floros Floridis on saxophone, Kora Michaelian (member of NOR DAR) on the piano and Savina Yiannatou on the vocals, add their unique contribution to the realization of the fruitful musical composition. And of course the great guest of this party is the scholar on electric bass, Eberhard Weber (known for his collaborations with Jan Garbarek and Kate Bush), who had a major role in the paths followed by the German label ECM.
