Trials beginning from the distant land of Armenia, pass through the rough Indian land, to lead to an exceptional musical collaboration. Armenia and India, two countries with primitive musical tradition, meet for the very first time. 'AMPEL'A' is a female album: Kora Michaelian (member of NOR DAR) composes the music and Lakshmi Shankar sings (her voice colored the Academy Award winning film 'Gandhi'). The album is a unique fusion of Armenian and Indian melodies, embossed with sophisticated musical forms. It is worth mentioning the participation of the bass player Marc Johnson, known for his collaborations with Pat Metheny and Bill Freezel.
