"Mosaic" is the new album of Maria Farantouri which will leave a mark in time.
For the first time the big diva of Greek music (and not only) interprets the songs with a style different to the one she has us used to. Without leaving the domain of her course to date, in 'Mosaic' she makes an opening by interpreting songs of composers like Ahuva Ozeri, a spontaneous musical vein from Israel, who creates melodies that reach our hearts directly.
"Mosaic" is a rich mosaic made from precise pebbles from different parts of the earth. Pure pebbles like the songs of Ozeri or even like the three traditional songs which carry the purity and truth of their nameless creators, who made songs which stood up to time.
In the album we find an exceptional ballad of Sandy Denny next to three songs of Makis Ablianitis. The "Secret", one of the nicest songs that Ross Daly has composed, together with two songs of the internationally known Turkish composer Fuat Saka.
Makis Ablianitis assumed the arrangement of the songs giving a unified style to the album and the beautiful lyrics are written by Magda Papadaki.
A significant moment for the international recording industry with the great Greek Diva Maria Farantouri.
