| Fourteen musical landscapes invite us to a wonderful travel. Jazz, funk, world fusion, rock and Greek sound in a musical documenter.
Porto Kayio, but Barberis does not "enter a port". He takes off!
Inexhaustible in melodies, rhythms, images and colors. An album full in all aspects: in composition, form, rhythm, sound. Guitar, lots of guitar, but also sitar, vocals, tampla, intense drum and electronic sounds. In Porto Kayio Barberis creates a musical documentary. Having his very strong melodies as a base he takes unedited recordings of vocals (excellent vocals), sounds and rhythms and incorporates them in his music. And he incorporates them in such a manner that they finally become its inseparable part. Every track is a myth with plot and evolution. Every track is a musical homeland. Greece, India, the East, Africa and back again to his land.
And while Porto Kayio is jazz and funk, in one track it meets the Greek popular song and some of its big moments pass like the sound from an old transistor. Besides, this is Greek blues.
We took off for Porto Kayio, the imaginary port. Fourteen special and distinct musical places invite us to travel and be bewitched.
