Icaros (Icarus) has remained the symbol of free flying. This is the symbol that Antonis Apergis wanted to adopt in order to express the style and the colour of his first instrumental record.
Antonis Apergis is known for many years now to the Greek audience through his songs but he is also known as a guitarist and a player of the oud. "Icaros" includes eleven instrumental pieces and one song "Sea and Sky" that is performed excellently by Lizeta Kalimeri.
From one piece to another, we enter a new, magical world through beautiful tunes, a rich orchestration, colours of the earth and of the sea. Every tune is a separate world. A rich, lively, colour- filled record. The colour of Greece and the taste of the East.
A number of excellent musicians are contributing to the superb result. Thirty-three musicians. And they are all unique! The internationally known vibraphonist Christos Rafaelidis, Harris Labrakis playing the ney, Panos Dimitrakopoulos the kanoon, Tzeki Soulkouki the violin, Alexandros Arkadopoulos the clarinet (zourna), Giorgos Tsiatsoulis the accordion, Giorgos Palamiotis the bass but also Antonis Apergis himself is playing the guitar and the oud. All of them constitute "Icaros" as a record of a unique musical gathering.
