Vasso Allayianni hadn't spoken for a long time. She had been waiting to give us "Svarno" (her alter ego). Here she says everything!
Allayianni is one of the most famous and accepted composers in Greece . Her songs have become turning points, included in the repertoire of the live performances of the best Greek singers. She has written songs for Nikos Papazoglou, Haroula Alexiou, Manolis Lidakis and other first class singers. Her songs "Hydrohoos", "Ah Ellada" and "Glaros" are some of the best in Greek discography.
"SVARNO" is music that touches the feeling, strikes straight to our heart, enchants us from the very first time that we listen to it. But at the same time it sets off Allayianni's hidden side of the moon. She lets the fine balance, the plain expression, the delicate touch and the sense of harmony that characterize her, to be shown. This is the most personal work she has given us till today.
Allayianni, a lot more mature than ever, starts being liberated from anything that exhorts her, anything that is not essential. With this abstraction she adds depth and substance. The intensions of "Svarno" are strong but are expressed in a low voice, internal.
And the time when Allayianni wants to sing comes. This performance is soul-stirring. Nobody else could have sung "My Beloved", because nobody would have felt it this way. Nobody would have been able to convey the sense and the emotion that the creator herself does. Allayianni doesn't merely sing the song, she lives it. Along with the album but also separately, there is also a second song, the "Pebble" (it is included in a separate 8mm CD-SINGLE).
"Svarno" is not about unlinked pieces collected in an album. It narrates a story, the story that Allayianni writes on the cover of the album. If you want you can read the story and watch it evolve through music. Those of you, who don't want to, let yourselves be free in the music, and give to it meaning in your own way.
It would be worth mentioning the aesthetically impeccable cover of "Svarno", a cover created uniquely by LIBRA MUSIC.
