LIBRA MUSIC is one of the most important imprints in music industry for world, ethnic, jazz and new music. LIBRA was founded by Alkis Vafias in Athens in 1992. His ideal was "to put the music first". His directorial aesthetic gave the common sound to the label that introduced important contemporary composers with fresh ideas.

The range of music addressed by LIBRA cannot easily be summarized. We could say that LIBRA serves the common ground to the multiplicity of traditional, world and jazz musicians of the Balkans, Near East and the Mediterranean . At the recordings of LIBRA featuring some of the best musicians in the world like Paolo Fresu, Eberhard Weber, Paul Wertico, Glen Velez, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Lakshmi Shankar, Pdt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Bentik Hofseth, Arild Andersen, Abdelli, Hossam Ramzy, Marc Johnson, Chemirani Trio, Dragan Dautovski, Jon Tchicai, Famoudou Don Moye, Salah Ragab, Jemeel Moondoc, Ahuva Ozeri, Fuat Saka, Airto Moreira and Wallace Roney.

Alkis Vafias believes that each album is a special music world, which takes a particular aesthetic form in a cover. That's why LIBRA's covers have also made an impact. In recognition of this LIBRA has received numerous awards.
