Maria Spyropoulou

Maria Spyropoulou was born in Athens . Her love for singing and the charismatic deep voice of hers were expressed in an early age. She had been studying classic song for eight years with Marina Krilovits while she had courses of phonetics.
The future was foreboded brilliant. Stamatis Kraounakis, an excellent musician and a talent scout, discovered the young talented singer and gave her the opportunity to participate in his project Spira - Spira and have successful performances in "Hitirio" and in "Hora" theater, Athens .
Her first step into discography came with an important participation in Stamatis Kraounakis' album "ola mavra ke ena piano" (all black and a piano). She collaborated with Christos Nicolopoulos in two albums "Sinantisi" and "En Iordani" and she received recognition by a wide audience. Another successful collaboration followed with Manolis Mitsias

A year later Spyropoulou received great reviews on her performances in two successful albums, the double cd of Stefanos Korkolis "ilios thanatos" (sun, the death) and in the recent work of Nenad Jellic "itan bora" (it was a storm). In February 2003 her debut album titled "perimeno" (waiting) was released including a new arrangement of the song "Allah", an authentic improvisation by Nikos Gounaris orchestrated by Giorgos Zahariou.
2005: Spyropoulou met some of the most important Greek voices, Dimitris Zervoudakis, Melina Kana, Yiota Nega, in Manolis Galiatsos' album 'The Wizard's games' (LM036-2). The album was released by LIBRA MUSIC.
